Great already & great potential

Excited to find this app! After a couple of days using it, I’d gladly pay for it. I still miss the old Skitch app… I’ve tried so many similar apps and this one is the most comfortable, BY FAR! Above all… it’s dead simple to use! The “Snaps Library” (especially the menubar quick access) is very handy. There are a few minor things that I hope will improve, but they’re easy enough to get used to. Don’t let my feature requests fool you… it really is a great app. Here are the things I hope will improve (but even if not, this is still my current go-to app for screenshots): * text editing, changing text color/formatting works, but feels a bit clunky/inconsistent/unreliable * cropping/resizing doesn’t seem easy (if even possible) * wish there was an easier way to export the image you’re editing (like a way to drag and drop the image) * drawing arrows must be done manually Overall it’s really been great and useful so far!

Why did you take away ctrl+drag?????

One of the features I used the MOST - ctrl dragging a snap to drag and drop it whereever I want - NO longer works. WHY?? Please bring this back!

Awesome for students!

I really recommend using this while working on assignments. It has helped me complete my schoolwork in much less time. For example: -take a snap of the criteria for a certain assigment and drag it to the corner of your screen so that you can reference it without cluttering up much screen space. -take snaps of certain equations or formulas that you will need to reference in a paper, in case you forget them -take a snap of an emai telling you what work you need to have done, use the annotate feature to make it into your own little to-do list, without having to open up a to-do app

Best out of 10

I recently switched from Windows to Mac and needed a new screencapture app. I tried at least ten freebie apps until I found this. Love it. Love the way you can save to any cloud service in one click.

The first perfect app of it’s kind

I tried lots of snapping’ apps and was dissapointed with which one of them. Until I finally found Snappy. I love the features, ease of use and organisation. Highly recommend it!

Solid application

Snappy works well - being available at the top of the screen makes it more effective. As I am learning it, it is on occasion confusing as to how to get it to do what I want after I take screen shots, but there is a list of commands available to help with that.

Way handier than stock Grab

Only used it several times, but it is nice to have it load on booting and can easily access it with customizable hot keys.

Use it daily

I use it all the time to copy orders I make online so I have record of the order….This has helped me many times track down where things are. This version is more user-friendly than previous ones…Use it with confidence!

A must-have utility

This is a must-have utility, and I use it all of the time. It is has features comparable to costly applications in the same vein, and it is suprememly helpful when creating How-To articles. It is great that they offer this app as free, but I would gladly pay for it because it is that good. Looking for a simple, flexible yet feature rich screenshot program? Look no further. I would also encourage others to get the companion iOS app. It costs $.99, but I am glad to pay to help support this developer. I can’t say enough good things about this app.

Easy, quick and accurate

Easy, quick and right on the spot.

Love it!!!!

I enjoy apps that work like they say. This app is awesome! Love the tools for annotations as well as the options for sharing and storage. Added share on Slack!

A useful tool

I’m a beginning developer for apps. I use this app to take a snapshot of the entire Xcode playground. I need to see the playground’s right side copied. This side is where the results of your code appear. I see the results side by side with the code that produced them. The Snappy app does this fine. I find it helps in app development.

Works Great!

I always hated having to remember the key combination for screen shots. Now I just go to the menu bar and select Snappy - Love it!

simple and easy

Great screenshot function, easy to locate library items, easy and simple to use. Recommended

Very good software

It works very well and helps me specifically in studying programming code.

Very useful

I use this tool, if not daily, on a weekly basis. I’ve found it to be very handy, especially with the annotation capability. I can take a screenshot, mark it up and send it along veyr conveniently. I often use it to capture something on one window and let it hover over another window where I need to reference it.

UPDATE: STILL EXCELLENT. EVERYDAY ESSENTIAL. Excellent. So helpful / UPDATE / APP IS EXCELLENT

THIS IS MY UPDATE: I will happily give the devs the $5.99 for in-app purchase. This app is worth so much more. I study and research and clip a bunch. Snappy App is invaluable. If you understand its purpose and potential, I don’t know how a person could rate it less than FIVE STARS. IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD!!! Previous ____________ I had to stop what I was doing this morning as I used SnappyApp once again and make the time to write this review. Kudos to the dev. I cannot believe how useful this app is. I have been using it for some time but find myself using it more and more. Snap an image, save it or copy it or just let it hang there while I use the info I needed. Brilliant in its simplicity and usefulness. I snap images from bank statements when working on finances, snap graphics. I have found myself snapping images from my mind mapping software projects because it is faster and easier than exporting. And the quality is very good. I snap images when I have a list to transfer or have thoughts that I want to keep up front. Still discovering. Vital part of my workflow now.

Indispensable

This app is perfect for my workflow. I actually started using it at work and quickly found I could not do without it on my personal Mac.

Absolutely Superb Snapshot App!!!

I rarely write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this app. It is OUTSTANDING!!! It is well worth the price, I would seriously pay 2-3 times the going rate. It does everything I want and need. It stays out of the way until you need it, pops up with a keystroke, does its job and then goes back in to hiding until needed. If you need snapshots of portions of the screen this is the app you want. Thank you to the developers for an excellent tool. - Ed Campbell Jr.

Complicated

Needlessly complicated. Take a snap. Now it’s in some internal database that isn’t visible on the Mac. You can save the snap, but there is only one file type option: PNG. I can’t use PNG. I need JPG. Now I have to transcode the saved picture. Deleted the app after only a few minutes. OK, so now, where is this database file it was using? Is it still on my computer taking up space?
