Very useful tool

Very useful, very convient. The icon is on the screen at all times. I use SnappyApp while watching online video training clips to save images of charts and otherr items I need to further study. I also find that the suport staff is very quick to resopnd to questions of problems that may arise. Snaps can be stored wherever desired and a copy is also maintained in the Snappy App Library even after you delete the Snap you have taken. I keep Snappy App running all the time. It takes up very little memory. Highly recommended.

Too many unnecessary options and upselling.

The latest update was the worst. Added a lot of random upselling and I can’t copy the snap anymore directly after I take it.

Really like the app, but needs more functionality.

Really like how easy it is to use, but would really like to see more options added: – Support for bit.ly sharing (with API key) – Ability to set a default sharing service with option to auto-copy a share link (i.e. bit.ly) Otherwise I really like it! Nice work!

Great idea but it wants to connect to external sites by itself

Very convenient alternative to SnapAndDrag but when you start it, it tries to connect to a whole bunch of external sites. The company told me this was related to crash reporting but as far as I’m concerned, (A) no app should connect externally without your permission (thank goodness for Little Snitch) and (B) if it wants to report a crash, then let it wait until a crash happens.

Great app, but consistently crashes in settings menu

I remmaped cmd+shift+4 to snappy app from the default system setting and it is like nothing changed. I love the app and use it everyday! For the developers, there is a bug when I access the system settings, notably facebook and the store that causes it become unresponsive.

Possibly the most useful screen capture app

The ability to leave your capture in an always-on-top window makes this program great for referencing between applications, especially when you only have a single monitor to work with. Lots of conveinient sharing options as well.

Must-have for those with only one monitor

Not much else to say other than this app is a HUGE time-saver for those who only have one monitor. By enabling a part of your screen to always be on top, it reduces all the time spent switching back and forth between tabs or windows.

Used It For Years

Just configured a new MacBook, and this is the first App I installed. So easy to take an area screen shot that remains in view (on top) while using the info on other webpages, for example. Just one example: You want to compare the specs from one car, device, or whatever to another, just “screen shot” the specifications area, go to another web page or tab for another item to compare it to, and there is still your info from the Snappy App shot you took. You can move it around to line it up with the data for an easy compare. Someone will ask me for all the contact information for a mutual acquaintance: just screen shot the demographics from your address/contacts list, and it will all remain right there for you to type into an email or web page document, even after you obviously opened up a new application and are working full screen, as I like to do.

Of all the screen capture apps, this is the one I use

It’s intuitive, unobtrusive, convenient, and fun. It just works great. This is what Apple should have made. At this price, you can’t affort not to try this one. I have reviewed lots of apps, but this one is at the top.

Great app and concept, but buggy

The last several versions have been VERY buggy on Yosemite. In order to get functionality after taking a snap (like copying it, accessing the menu, or taking another snap), I often have to force quit and reopen. I really hope the developer will fix this.

Useful

I use this app more than I expected, and I am a fan.

Every Mac user needs SnappyApp!

SnappyApp is great! I use it frequently each day, and the manufacturer creates wonderful new features continually. Their tech support is very responsive and very helpful. I cant describe all the SnappyApp features or my review would be way too long, you need to discover them yourself, so Ill try to describe the Mac user that needs SnappyApp: If you use images for work, for fun, or if you want to use them to better describe what you are talking about in your emails, or you see stuff on your Mac that you dont want to forget, or want to share them with your iOS devices or use AirDrop or social media, or edit images you see on your Mac, or print them, or if you use DropBox or EverNote… Ok, my description was way too narrow; every Mac user needs SnappyApp!

What’s Not to Like about SnappyApp?

I am forever capturing images for my blog, quotes for my writing, prices and such for purchases I am planning. The old ways of screen capture are just a painful memory now that I am using Snap to display, annotate and share with so few keystrokes and such logical organization of access and use of my clips. I am only sorry it took me so long to discover something I’ve needed since the beginning! I wish there were settings to send mail through gmail and not the default apple Mail app; and it would be nice if there were settings that sent clips automatically to the gallery instead of making them “stay on top” until dismissed though a hotkey can be set to dismiss all snaps. Great useful beautiful tool!

Who needs Grab?

I don’t screencap that often, but when I do, I hate having to open Grab separately, save the screencap, open it in Preview and re-save it as a JPEG. If Grab offered to save a file in different formats instead of TIFF only, I may still use it, but SnappyApp is always there, easy, saves in various formats, and offers social media integration - so much better than Grab. And free! Can’t beat it.

So useful

Easy to use and works well with my workflow. I’ve not found anything else that was anywhere near as good.

Dont know how people use computers without this app

If your work or personal life involves referencing information in one place and using that information in another place (which is pretty much every job at some point) then this app is essential. Execution is close to ideal.

Would be nice if it worked.

good idea and design, just freezes hard if you try to post to facebook from it. no response from customer service. but then it’s free…. useless to me.

Solid

Works just what I needed it for, drawing on screen. All of its export options are nice, and I send snaps to dropbox all the time.

Transformative

An incredibly helpful application. I use it daily, and it has seriously transformed the way I use my computer. It helps me at work, school, and just in general life. I highly recommend it, and have made sure to let my family, friends, and coworkers know about it. It streamlines so much of what I do.

Won’t even open!

Installed on my 15” MBP retina this morning, and it won’t even open. Useless.
